Welcome to Our World
Congratulations — and welcome! You've officially joined the wonderfully chaotic, incredibly rewarding world of band parenting. There will be early mornings, late-night pickups, mysterious uniform pieces that multiply in the laundry, and more acronyms than you ever thought possible (NEISD, MBPA, UIL — we promise it'll start making sense). But there will also be front-row seats to watching your student grow, a whole community of parents who've got your back, and some of the best memories of their high school years. Take a breath, bookmark this page, and don't be afraid to ask questions — every single one of us started right where you are now.

Physicals
Physicals are required for all students. The physical must be on file no later than 1 Aug 2026. Physicals are valid one year from signature. If a physical expires during the school year, it is the parent responsibility to provide a new one.
Get Involved
Volunteering with the band is more than just lending a hand — it's a great way to be part of your student's experience, cheer them on up close, and get to know other band parents who quickly become friends.
Before you jump in, NEISD requires all volunteers to have a current background check on file. Processing can take up to two weeks, so please apply early. See the flyer for the application website and where to send your clearance number once approved.
